Beasties

OOO Gargoyles suck. The Vicious Gargoyle sucks more than all of them.

Many terrible beasts can be found in the wilds of Tamriel. Some have grown canny and strong setting themselves apart from their lesser kin. Woe betide the unprepared hunter or adventurer who finds themselves in the den of these kings of beast and monster.

(Let's get crazy)

Crazed Imp (Crazed Imp Gall)

Gargoyles (Gargoyle Horn)

(No, it's there. It's the smudge)
Mystical Imps (Mystical Imp Gall)
Shadow Wolf (Shadowolf Pelt, Shadowolf Meat)
Hellhound (Fire Salts)
(No laser pointer needed to play)
Jaguar (Jaguar meat, Jaguar Hide)
Bog Ogre (Ogre Teeth)
Frost Titan (Frost Titan Mane, Frost Titan Horn)
Tundra Wolves (Tundra Wold Pelt, Tundra Wold Meat)
Snow Mountain Lion

In addition to new beasties there are creatures that have made a wicked name for themselves for their fearsome nature. Locals will sometimes name the creatures, others set themselves apart by their fierce nature.

Ol' Lurker

This Jaguar is known to have a lair in the swamps of Black Marsh.

Gargantuan Slaughterfish - Fishermen swear that in the depths of the Niben is a fish like no other - able to swallow man or mer whole.

Path of Iron

(Try to take it. Just try)

The Paladin Melus Petelius served the Nine faithfully, but shed his shining armor after the death of his wife. Daring adventurers can brave terrors in the wilds of Cyrodiil to try to reclaim it - but only if they first get the blessing of the Gods.

To start this quest you need to activate the claymore at the grave of Petelius' wife in near Brindle Home.

Once you get the message from the Gods, you will have to do some unpaladin-like snooping in Petelius' cabin, break into his basement and find the shrine with his journal. That should allow you to answer their questions and continue with the quest. If should be noted that if you have completed the quest for Molag Bal, tormenting Petelius, the Nine will not select you as their champion.

(That's not creepy at all)

The Journal also holds to clues to where all of the pieces of armor are resting. Each in dungeons that are guarded fiercely by their denizens.

Lady of Embers

Lady of Embers with a giant flame atronach backing her up

Lady of Embers is the leader of the mysterious order known as The Guardians of Oblivion. She is headquartered deep in Fieldhouse Cave on the eastern border of Cyrodiil in the region of Blackmarsh.

The Lady of Embers is clad in The Ember of Oblivion and the Incandescent Gloves and Hood, all with incredibly powerful enchantments. She has The Ring She wields a wicked glass shortsword with a damage health enchantment.

As if those robes weren't badass enough.

Corrupted Rangers

These followers of Jefre have been corrupted by their leader to a foul end. They are scouring Aylied Ruins along the gold coast searching for terrible artifacts, The Dread Armor.

You encounter these high-level enemies during the quest Shadows in a Struggle for Power.

Eregor, the Leader of these rangers is holed up in Yeleri, sending his brethren out to find the final piece of the armor.

He has underlings in various ruins, including Barastas and Narind.

The Corrupted Rangers wear Braided Armor, both light and heavy versions. Should the player attempt to don the armor, they will be contacted by Jephre and tasked with the quest of returning the Heart of the Forest.

A cacophony of laughter and whispers fills my mind. The silvery voices mock my attempt to don this item. I distinguish a name, the Storyteller. Somehow, I am yet unworthy of their lord's blessing. The whispers become louder. I can sense their growing anger. Suddenly, they stop. A flash of iridescent green light blinds my sight. I can see the damp blue hues of an Ayleid ruin's hall. Upon a pedestal rests a magnificent green jewel. A single sound echoes in my mind... Narind.

I tried to don armor from a fallen ranger but it slip (sic) off me as if it were alive. A vision then overcame me. Voices at first mocked me for my temerity. They grew angry as I saw the interior of an Ayleid ruin. A green gem rested upon a pedestal. It seems that this gem is of great value to their master, The Storyteller, whom I think is Jephre himself. Were I to recover this sacred stone from the bowels of Narind, mayhap Jephre shall reward my allegiance and deed.

The heart of the forest is not unguarded.
You will be told the name of the Ayleid ruin, Narind, but not given its location. And there are many new ruins that have been recently uncovered by these fell rangers.

Guardians of Oblivion

This is a sect of conjurers that have made unholy pacts with the denizens of Oblivion than give them terrible powers. They are said to be led by a powerful mage known only as Lady of Embers.

They wear intricately embroidered robes that set them apart from the average Arcane University drop-out. Often the dank caves or ruins they have made their home are filled with creatures from the many realms of Oblivion. Great caution is urged for anyone seeking to combat this menace.

Known locations

Ceyatatar
Fieldhouse Cave

Amazons

These fearsome warrior women are devout followers of Sanguine. They can wield bows, blades, or magick and are not to be trifled with.

They only accept women into their ranks, and how they choose members is obscure. It is best for the unprepared not to approach them, even if they are female, unless you are ready to fight for your life.

Boobs are their only vital organs.

Amazons are known to capture men to procreate with. Once they have fulfilled their function they are typically killed.

Though their ranks are mysterious, it is known that some of the elite hunters are blessed by Sanguine and known as his "Roses."

Tribes are thought to be led by priestesses and wise women. Though no one who has encountered them has returned to tell the tale.

Locations of known Amazon tribes:

Dzonot Cave
Onyx Caverns
Rickety Mine

Shadows in a Struggle for Power

A corrupted ranger takes aim. He's wearing light braided armor.

Those who venture to the Gold Coast are warned against venturing too far from the roads - with good reason. Rangers from the province of Valenwood have been spotted and seem unusually hostile to travellers. They are scouring ruins, that until now, have remained undiscovered by native Cyrods. They seem to be looking for something of immense power.

Adventurers who do explore these ruins will find two factions. The Sylvan Rangers and the Corrupted Rangers. There are various new ruins with these fierce warriors virtually swarming through the halls. Best be prepared, as even if you can take one or two in close combat, they can still overwhelm even a seasoned adventurer with sheer numbers.

The Rangers have stolen a mystical green gem and are holding it in the well-fortified ruin of Narind as part of a larger plot to gather a set of armor that has a dark purpose. You learn of this if you try to don some of the armor from one of the corrupted rangers.

The Sylvan Rangers have made strategic camps and make raids on ruins they think may hold the gem. They won't help the player per se, but you can follow them as they raid nearby ruins.

This quest goes beyond just the Corrupted Rangers and their feud with their Sylvan brethren. The goal of the quest is to reunite a cursed set of heavy armor that will allow the wearer to wield the weapons of the undead. It is said that members of the Putrid Hand understand the workings of this fell armor and know where it the last piece might be.

Another player in the game is Hlorfor, the Arctic Bear who is holed up in Dasek Moor (just off the road to Anvil). He is the leader of the formidable Raiders.

About the Guide to OOO

This is something of a guide-as-I-go. I'm currently using OOO (v. 1.33). The guide will develop as I proceed through the mod. I've only completed a few quests to date and stumbled across others. I will do screenshots to the best of my ability - if you have better screenshot, feel free to contact me. A lot of credit needs to be given to devnull, whose guide helped me kick off quests I may not have otherwise found.

Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul basically unlevels dungeons, making exploration have more risk - but the riskier your venture the higher the payoff is likely to be. It adds several new factions, questions, and hundreds of items (armor, weapons, clothing, artifacts and more).

I had attempted to create a wiki for the page, but the one I was using decided that I needed to pay up or claim it was educational. I'm poor and a terrible liar, so I'm transferring my work to Blogger. This is a labor of geek love. Feel free to point out errors, or things that should be added in the comments.

It should go without saying, but this blog is chock full of spoilers. Every link can potentially ruin a surprise.
